The Centre for Therapeutic Technology (CTT) is a hub for technical solutions to enhance care provided to patients at the IWK. The Centre links innovation to experience and capacity, to provide one stop shopping for those who wish to pursue research or development projects that have clear immediate impact on patient oriented outcomes. Individuals approching the Centre are able to consult with leaders in clinical care, informatics, computer sciences, and industry. Some of these leaders are full members of the Centre while others are identified by networks developed and maintained by the Centre. We provide an academic home for the technologically innovative in our community, an audience for their presentations, a patient cohort upon which to demonstrate their products, and a research discipline which holds to ethical, high quality eveidence of benefit. We are guided by a firm attention to child and family oriented clinical outcomes. Our focus is on the children that we care for: our mandate includes the technological approach to patient safety, patient experience, and clinical patient outcomes.
