IWK Auxiliary

The IWK Auxiliary is a dynamic organization. We support IWK Health and its mission; devote time and resources to all children, women, and families served by IWK Health; provide volunteer services and resources to the IWK; and advocate for child health and wellness and for disease and injury prevention as a special focus. Since being established in 1946, the IWK Auxiliary has raised over $6.2 million for IWK Health.

At the heart of the Auxiliary is a group of 91 members and 33 patrons—dedicated volunteers who give their energy and expertise in a wide variety of roles: helping in patient care areas, providing leadership on committees, working on Auxiliary projects and committees, or driving fundraising activities.

Join us!

There are many opportunities for you to meet new friends, learn new skills, and become involved in an environment that allows you to develop your talents, wherever they lie. Members are expected to volunteer in some capacity in Auxiliary projects or administration of the Auxiliary. Stimulating and enriched volunteer opportunities are provided to members—the possibilities are limited only by your enthusiasm.

Auxiliary membership is open to everyone 18 years of age and older, and becoming a member is as simple as filling out a membership form. Once you apply, you’ll be contacted to set up a personal meeting for you to learn more about the Auxiliary and the role you will play as a member. The membership fee is $25.00 annually.

Membership forms are also available by contacting the IWK Auxiliary Office at 902-470-8918.

Calling all those under 45!

The “Under 45” chapter was formed to seek young, enthusiastic members, and will host various new events and reach out to the community. This is a great opportunity for young professionals to get involved with the IWK and their community. What better way to develop a professional portfolio than supporting a valued Maritime organization and have fun doing it!

If you would like to get involved with the “Under 45” chapter of the IWK Auxiliary or have some great new ideas you would like to share, please contact under45auxiliary@gmail.com.
