IWK attracts brain research grants

Researchers at the IWK Health Centre are recipients of funding for two of the 18 new brain research projects announced yesterday by the Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Health. The grants were awarded by Brain Canada, with financial support from Health Canada through the Canada Brain Research Fund.

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in IWK Emergency Department first of its kind in province

For Immediate Release – Halifax:  A new collaborative practice agreement in the IWK Emergency Department (ED) means doctors now have more time to focus on patients seeking help in the ED. Since January 2017, a clinical pharmacy specialist has been following up on laboratory investigations ordered on ED patients, freeing up emergency doctors from the task.
